SFS Constitutional Revisions (2012)

As part of the normal review and improvement process for running our Society, three separate changes are being proposed for our By-laws. The proposed changes are: 1) clarifying and re-defining how the President of the Society is replaced, should s/he become incapacitated; 2) renaming the International Profiles Committee; and 3) creating a new permanent committee, the Sponsorship and Development Committee. Below is a rationale and a detailed description for each of the proposed changes. Each of these proposed changes has been favorably reviewed by the Constitutional Revisions Committee, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee. These proposed changes will be put to a vote of the membership at the upcoming annual meeting in May, as per the amendment process specified in the SFS By-laws.
