The Department of Interior released the first draft of “National Fish, Wildlife, and Plants Climate Adaption Strategy” which reflects science-based practices for the reduction of negative impacts of climate change on fish, wildlife, plants, and ecosystems. More than 100 researchers and managers have participated in the drafting of this national strategy. This Climate Adaption Strategy draft is composed of multiple sections: 1) vision and guiding principles of document, 2) summaries of current and projected impacts of climate change on fish, wildlife, and plants, 3) discusses strategies and goals to make wildlife and ecosystems more resilient, and 4) a framework for coordinated integration and implementation of the national adaptation strategy across local, state, and federal governments.
