- summaries of high profile publications pertaining to freshwater science
- summaries of government reports and public policy promulgations related to aquatic communities, freshwater ecosystems, and water resources
- research and public policy activities of SFS members
- major accomplishments of SFS committees
- general tools for SFS members to better engage in public policy
- objective, informative articles about controversial issues affecting aquatic communities, freshwater ecosystems, and water resources
